COLLABERATIVE EXHIBITIONS
The arts community in the Redlands is composed of majorly 6 groups. Visit our Information section to see a map that illustrates the locations of these groups.
In 2021 we became involved with the other groups with two events that will hopefully be ongoing for many years to come.
The Grand View Hotel, Cleveland Point - 'Art Upstairs' exhibition.
In May 2021 the Grand View Hotel, a landmark heritage listed place, put an offer to the Old SchoolHouse Gallery at Cleveland Point that its would be happy to display artworks. The Old SchoolHouse Gallery is a membership of 20 to 25 members and felt that they couldn't effectively fill the upper floor of the hotel with as many a 100 works of art - so they put out the word to the other 5 Redland art groups to join them in the display. The result is a bright wonderful collection of works from mainland and island artists.
This display will be ongoing as the current display stays in place for three months and then a changeover of artworks will occur.
In May 2021 Redland's Council came up with a combined groups art fair.
Due to changes in management at RPAC(where we had displayed for 10 years as an individual group) - Redland's Performing Arts Centre we have 'lost' the venue in which we could display very large format and very large quantity wise art exhibitions.
However management at RPAC decided an alternative option of a 3 day exhibition and art fair at which art groups of the Redlands could come together to exhibit and sell artworks.
In June 2021 4 art groups of Redlands - including the Alliance, came together to have a collection of works and also an art fair.
